BE BRAVE!

This is a story about me, but in the end, it is about you

The age of 40 is too old to start a career in work, that’s what many people, including HR, say when recruiting employees. It was courageous for an HR director, nine years ago to accept me as an employee when I was 43 years old. And my spirit to take the challenge even though I have no experience in that field and since 1999 have not worked in a company. Two and a half years later, I was entrusted with being Deputy General Manager in a holding company and became the head of training for a subsidiary.

Four years ago I was Head of the Division of Human Resources, Marketing, and the Corporate Secretary and at that time I obtained a Doctorate in HR, specifically in terms of virtual coaching.

Two years ago I was on the HR team of a large corporation and I made my way up the career ladder as the Chief Human Idea Officer and the Director of Training Development.

To be brave enough to move forward is not easy, making risky decisions is a tough struggle. Starting a career is not as easy as it says because there are many failures in it. At that time, many people doubted that I could return to work at the company at the age of 43, which according to many people in their 40s should someone have already had a top career, but I was just starting in a new field.

What I live for is a process.

Only through mindfulness and dare to make decisions for every life event, will it allow me to change my mindset.

Taking steps together with people who have been progressed in life, are open-minded, and learn together, helps me grow and be fruitful. Come with humility, embarrassment, feel unworthy, want to move forward, and most importantly the courage to learn from others and willingness to accept feedback.

Apart from the cynical look, few people said: You can! What can be seen can be learned! I said I don’t need to be a versatile person, but I need to be brave and make myself available to learn. I need the spirit to conquer the world. Not to survive but to grow and bear fruit.

Be Brave!
